The truffled mushroom burger at Wildfire – pretty decent patty though i had to order mine well-done so thats as much as I can say about that. I thought the buns could be thinner and the truffle could be more pronounced though. And mmmm sweet potato fries

This was a super ‘old school’ hakka restaurant highly recommended by one of my friends; the yong tau foo here’s pretty good! One can taste the freshness of the fish paste.
Pictured below is a 4 pax share, quite a good portion.
We particularly liked the steamed clams in chinese wine, very tasty. Had to hold myself back from drinking the “soup” directly.

Dined here one evening purely because we wanted to make use of our Entertainer App (buy already must use right!) Food here was well…ok I guess, portions were pretty generous at least.
I did like the lychee tea but why no refill of water..jeez
Mmm sweet potato fries
the baked salmon in pastry was pretty dry.

Dinner before Les Miserables (which was awesome btw) at Mischief where a limited pre-theatre menu was offered; not a lot of choices but I guess the restaurant had to get the dishes out quite quickly.
A giant hotdog for me which well tasted like a normal hotdog. I do like the thick cut potato chips, crunchy and meaty.
E’s burger with the same chips.
We also ordered a side of charcoal cod out of curiosity, and boy was it really black. Gimmicky dish in my opinion

Exploring yet another restaurant near my workplace, this time a bistro offering pretty value for money set lunches. This was a 3 course meal for ~$20; they also have a $9.90 set lunch deal going on.
Smoked salmon salad, with a generous serving of greens and salmon
Steak with fries, it was ok though the large portion more than made up for it. Like I say, value for money!
Creme brulee was surprisingly good, I liked the ice cream especially hah
Adding this place to my staple list of lunch places 🙂

This is apparently a very popular pancake joint in Taiwan and it being so near my office, I had to try it.
The pancakes here are made from 7 different types of grains and free of additives, artificial fragrance etc etc i.e. healthy. And yes they do taste healthy. But give me Mac’s hotcakes anyday, not going for healthy if I am eating pancakes.
The waffle with fried chicken was rather nice. This was a dish where I didnt mind the fried chicken to be on the “healthier” side.
That said, I found this place overpriced, for instance the chicken waffle dish was $19 while a big breakfast with pancakes and the usual eggs + sausage will set you back $22. I do like the cute pastel mugs.

So great to have more decent cafes opening near my workplace. So now I can pretend its the weekend and have brunch food for lunch 😛
I like that they serve back bacon here, more meat less fat
Waffles here were great, this was the savory one with bacon and scrambled eggs topped with their signature sauce (tad spicy)
Smoked salmon + poached egg + brioche + avocado = cant go wrong what with everything i love on a plate
The salted gula melaka waffle is something that we keep ordering again and again, the perfect combination of salt and sweet, so good. But do share as it can be quite jelat to eat this on your own.
