Tokyo is hands-down my favorite city in the world, I have been there quite a few times and I am never sick of it – there is just so much to see, to eat, to explore.
Our first meal at a standing only, vending machine hole-in-the-corner place underneath a train station. I love how even a 600yen bowl of noodles look so good.
We were too early for our AirBnB check-in so wandered near the International Forum hoping to catch a flea market, alas it was drizzling and the flea was cancelled.
Off to Muji instead! I stock up on Muji bottles and other knick-knacks whenever I am in Tokyo, its about 30% cheaper than in SG.
I wouldnt recommend our Airbnb place (located at Ebisu) because it was extremely cramped and not too clean plus it was a too long walk from the train station. Really misleadingly so, as opposed to what the owner had described. The only good thing were the small bars/restaurants littered around the vicinity.
One of the best things travelling in Tokyo is you end up walking (and eating) a lot because there are just so many things to see plus cabs in general are just way too expensive. One of the cute places we spotted on one of our long walks – tiny store selling takoyaki. And yes they were delicious.
Why are sweet potato in Japan so good? Bought this at the food hall in one of the shopping malls of shinjuki and it was sooo good. Sticky, sweet,melt-in-your-mouth good.
