We cant just stay in the city during our trip right, so we decided to head out to Lake Kawaguchiko which was a couple hours away from Toyko (via train) to try to catch a glimpse of Mt Fuji and some fresh air.
Japan is probably the only place where I really enjoy train rides. The trains are clean, spacious and best of all are the various bento sets one gets to purchase to bring onboard. This one features roe, salmon and egg mmm (how can something sitting in a grocery store for a few hours be so delicious?!)
The cute trains and cones that greeted us as we arrived
Tempura lunch near the train station, fried on the spot by the chef
So this area has 5 lakes and each one offers each own unique view and all equally beautiful. We headed to the one nearest to our hotel just in time to catch the sun set. It was slightly chilly even in June and the perfect weather to take in the sights
