Bangkok Travel Diary – Dec 2015

Another year, another trip to Bangkok eh. Yes the city of smiles is always part of my yearly travel plans, I dont ever get sick of it – the food, the sights, the shopping and oh of course the massages.

This time round we decided to check out a new hotel – Hotel Lit. My criteria for a hotel in Bangkok is that it is near a bts, I do take cabs here but traffic can really be a bitch sometimes that I rather just have the option of taking a bts. Hotel Lit is a 5 min walk away from National Stadium BTS and a further 10 min walk to Siam centre. Extremely convenient!

The room itself was lovely though oddly shaped. The toilet itself was basically a long corridor at the back of the room leading to the shower area. I must admit it was a good idea cos it made the room (and toilet) appear bigger. Oh the closet opens up to both the room and toilet, ingenious!

Said corridor behind the bed, with the sink area + sink + shower area at the end. I also enjoyed the other small touches the hotel provided including a foot massage cream, how apt!

Artbox night market – do check the facebook page for when/where the night market opens first. This was at the EM district.

My impressions ? Well the night market was crawling with people. And really it was more of a food market than anything else. the f&b stalls to others ratio was probably 90-10. So come on an empty stomach and dont expect to do much shopping.

Food stalls here were largely selling ‘hip’ bar food like burgers, fries, nachos and cocktails. Of course there are also your classic thai food – pad thai, skewers etc

My burger , a small messy mouthful. Prices werent exactly cheap, the burger above costs 99baht.

Friessssss ladened with cheese and bacon bits, cant go wrong.

and also a ton of fried food with beer ahhh. Will i come back? Maybe if its at a convenient place (the EM district is a pretty good place) but bangkok has so much good food that i dont really think I am missing out by not coming, if you know what I mean.
